Urban Legend, a healthier doughnut brand, has recently secured £3m in seed funding to tackle the UK's obesity crisis. The brand, launched by former Graze CEO Anthony Fletcher’s Believe in Science, aims to provide a healthier alternative to traditional doughnuts with no artificial preservatives, colours, or flavourings. With at least 50% less sugar and fat than rival products, Urban Legend's doughnuts contain fewer than 160 calories.
The product is also steamed rather than deep-fried, with a micro layer of fat applied to the outside and a “beam of steam”, reducing the amount of saturated fat in the doughnuts.
The investment round was led by Eka, a leading VC firm, with support from the Good Food Fund, JamJar Investments, Samos Investments, and angel investors such as former Pret a Manger CEO Clive Schlee.
By prioritizing health and using innovative methods to reduce fat and sugar content, Urban Legend is poised to make a significant impact in the UK's food industry. Switch to Urban Legend for a healthier alternative to satisfy your sweet cravings while still taking care of your health.
